Back to the Future

Back to the Future, released in 1989 for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Beam Software and LJN brought us this game based on the 80s movie.

Marty McFly is the main character and he begins his journey on the streets. The screen moves down while Marty walks and jumps around the dangerous objects that show up on the street/screen. Marty cannot hit anything except: the clocks, skateboard and a ball/blob that can be used as a weapon. If Marty does not get to the end of the level in time then you loose a life. You must also collect the clocks to keep the fading picture from going away

The later levels include Lou's Cafe where you have to throw milk shakes at the Biff clones? That part of the game is similar to Root Beer Tapper. To beat that level Marty must hit around 50 Biffs without loosing a life. After that it is more street walking. Then the school building. I have not yet completed the game so the ending is up to you to find out.

This game is very difficult. Many people say this is one of the worst games for the NES. It is bad.... but not unplayable. The music is the worst part. A short song that loops. Does not sound like it is from the movie at all. The graphics are very simple and nothing fancy stands out. The game play is simple and takes time to master. Reminds me of a space shooter game. Not the best game but for a very low price ($2) you can try your reaction skills and see how far you can get to the end.
