Final Fantasy Tactics

This is a role-playing-game (RPG) that uses a tactics game play. Developed by Square this game was out by 1998 in America.

The game starts with a story that involves a family, magic, kingdoms and churches. The story is complex and is always changing with new twists and surprises. The biggest problem with this game is the boss Wiegraf/Velius. At that point it the game the difficulty jumps to a very high level. If your war party of characters are not at a very high level of experience in the game, then it is close to impossible to get past this part of the game.

The strategy and different jobs a character can have is great. I really like the stadegy presented in the game play. But the overall game has some major problems and the difficulty jumps from easy to hard too quickly. The game play is very fun at first but the boss Velius seems to take away the fun. The graphics are really well made with a blend of 2D and 3D. The best part of this game is the sound and music. Mostly the music. The presentation is very nice. I just wish the game was as good.

At the end I was not too thriled. It began as a good game and ended as a bad game. There are too many problems with the story and some boss battles are over the top. Time consuming.

Graphics: 8.1 out of 10
Sound and Music: 9.4 out of 10
Game play: 7 out of 10
Presentation: 9.5 out of 10

Overall: 6 out of 10

Not a bad game in my opinion, but it could have been much better. It was basically a strategy, turn-based RPG with Final Fantasy characters in it. The learning curve was much too steep too. I could hardly get past the 4 stage. The game did, however, have very good graphics and music. I've played much better from Square.
