Metal Storm

Irem presents this single player 1991 side-scrolling video game called "Metal Storm".

You play as a robot and shoot the robotic enemies on each level. The game is not very long but the levels are really well made. The game play is very fun and something new! You can flip and play through the levels upside-down. Many levels require you to jump and flip to shoot the enemies and get past obstacles. Your M-308 gunner explodes if he is hit (one time). There are power-ups throughout the game that will help you attack and survive.

This is one great game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The music can get old, but most of the time it is worth listening to. The graphics are stunning for an 8-bit system. The presentation is sleek and simple. This game provides challenges and the levels get more difficult. I think there should be more levels. In the end, this is a fun game and one of the best 2D "plat-former" games I have played. If you can find this game it is worth a play.
