Far Cry Instincts is a first person shooter from Crytek, who would later go on to make Crysis for the PC. The game is published by Ubisoft.
In Far Cry Instincts, you play as Jack Carver. Jack is out enjoying his vacation on his boat in the jungle, when it is attacked and burnt to the ground. Jack escapes alive, but unsure what is going on. He then soon finds out that some kind of 'terrorist' group, and I use that term lightly, is taking up stronghold in the jungle for some reason. You can't just run and gun in this game, you have to use some stealth. You can also set traps on the trees, and throw rocks to distract the enemy. You have a radar at the bottom left of the screen to help you know about your enemies. There are some pretty good weaponry in this game, and you can wield most guns in both hands. Far Cry Instincts is one of the best looking games I have seen for the Xbox, and it's very long as well. Think of Half Life, with it's long single player story mode and crazy story arcs, wherein you can mostly play, and lots of bosses in between. It's very much the same, only the story is much different. There is also a cool level editor in the game, where you can make your own levels for multiplayer, which was much better when Xbox Live was up and running. However, I played the single player all the way through, and it definitely took me more than 10 hours to beat. This is a long game. There is also a crazy twist in the middle of the game that I won't give away, but it makes the gameplay much more fun.
If you're looking for a fun, first person shooter that will take your breath away graphically, as well as aesthetically, then check out Far Cry Instincts. It shouldn't disappoint.
